Dear Mastercon attendees and all of our valued customers,

First, I would like to thank all those great modelers who were brave enough and bold enough to attend MasterCon 16, “the transitional event”.  I very much enjoyed getting to meet with you and share in the festivities that was MasterCon 16!  I would also like to thank my great staff for all their hard work and dedication putting on this event for the first time.

This letter is meant to explain what happened during MasterCon 16. The membership that attended decided along with Squadron senior staff what the future of this event and the Masters Group would be.

The good news is I have agreed to host MasterCon 17 next year. We are working out the details of when it will be.  Most wanted to have it sometime in July so they could more easily bring the family, as there is much to see and do here in the Dallas area. 

We have also opened up “membership” to the Masters Group to all of our customers.  You will become a Masters Group member if you have purchased from us at least once in the last year and if you register for Mastercon 17 by a deadline (yet to be announced.) You no longer need to pay to become a member, and as a result there are no longer any tiered discounts based on how much you paid for membership.  Everyone will get to take part in Squadron’s everyday 10% discount plus all monthly sale specials where you will find at least 1,000 items on sale anywhere from 15% – 80% off retail!  As promised, all those who attended MasterCon 16 will have their membership dues prorated and credited to their Squadron accounts. Those who “opted out” in April and May have all ready been processed. We are no longer accepting any dues effective immediately.

I enjoyed the positive attitudes of all the modelers who attended, making the show very enjoyable.  The show was definitely one of the main highlights of the event in my view. Next year, even if you don’t enter a model, I encourage all to come and enjoy all the talent that was on display!

Most aspects of the show will remain: the banquet, the voting, the awards, Master’s Group involvement in “running the show”, the fellowship of modelers, and of course a special warehouse sale at our headquarters facility!
